All patients are seen by appointment only. If you find it impossible to keep your scheduled appointment, PLEASE notify us at least 24 hours in advance so that we may give this time to another patient and schedule another appointment for you. Call (860) 224-2419 to schedule an appointment.

Emergency Care

We are available to treat dental emergencies 24 hours a day, every day. When the office is closed and you need assistance, you can reach us by calling our regular office number, (860) 224-2419. Our answering service will contact us and we will return your call.

A Child's First Appointment

Sometimes parents, in their eagerness to prepare their children, over explain. DON'T!! We suggest that you casually mention a few days ahead that "We are going to visit the dentist the day after tomorrow." Then, when the day arrives, mention it again. Please convey the feeling that dental visits are a part of growing up. Please don't offer rewards or indicate in any way that there is anything to fear.

Your child's reaction to the first few visits sets the stage for his or her entire lifetime of dental experiences. In an attempt to keep the initial experience as pleasant as possible, we will complete only a thorough examination and take any necessary x-rays at this visit. We appreciate your concern about x-rays and only take those essential for good treatment. X-rays are not taken on a routine basis at Pediatric Dentistry.

A Child's Second Appointment

The key to your child's future dental health is the establishment of good oral health habits. At this visit your child's teeth will be cleaned, fluoride applied and tooth brushing instructions will be given. Most importantly, this session is to provide you, as parents, with valuable preventive information which will be the basis for establishing good dental health habits for your child.

This pleasant introduction to dental treatment, with the dental hygienist, provides your child with another opportunity to become acquainted with our office and is a very important step toward accepting other dental treatment, if it is required.
