Tooth avulsion (a knocked out tooth) is
caused by trauma. If a primary (baby) tooth is knocked out, treatment
is not usually necessary. However, you should contact your pediatric
dentist to make sure there are no complications. If a permanent
tooth is knocked out, find the tooth, rinse it in water, and
replace it in the socket as soon as possible. Then contact your
pediatric dentist. If you cannot insert the tooth back into the
socket bring it to the dentist in a glass of milk, the sooner
the avulsed tooth is replaced in its socket, the better the prognosis. |
